Vendor Management – its what we do

Vacation Rental Management Companies handle cleaning (and other vendor management) in one of two ways:  Either they outsource to small mom and pop companies and spend most of their time trying to get the best pricing, chasing scheduling and quality OR they bring the function in house…which has an inherent risk of creating a conflict of interest.  Generally speaking neither of these is a great way to ensure your home is getting what it needs in order to satisfy your guest.  On one hand small operators are generally priced right…but on the other hand they aren’t savvy causing guest complaints  – gas grill is dirty and out of propane, unit isn’t supplied, outdated food in the cabinets, disorganized cabinets/drawers, bath towels that aren’t clean and stained, and a host of other items.   Are they vetting  vendors;  checking for licensing, insurance, and experience as required by their licensing?  Have they developed tools and processes to standardize the cleaning and inspecting processes?  Are they doing inspections?  The answer to most of those questions is a resounding NO!
